Oblong Website Design and Webflow Development

Client:
Oblong Industries
Year:
2018-2019
Services Offered:
Design, Webflow Development, Webflow Migration
Project Summary:
This project was one of my most challenging projects to date. It involved redesigning the main pages of Oblong's website and developing the new site in Webflow. Their existing Wordpress website had over 200 CMS pages which all needed to be ported into Webflow's CMS and rebuilt to fit the new design.

(Note: This project is continuously being managed and updated as needed as I manage Oblong's website, so some of these images may differ from the current site)

Was such a pleasure to work with Kyle. He is quick, dedicated and a great communicator and collaborator. We built and migrated a 250+ page site from wordpress over to webflow in under 6 weeks. Thanks for all your help Kyle!

Design: I began with design, and we went through several rounds of edits to refine the look itself. Once this was finished and the client was pleased with the updated look we moved into development!

Development: This happened in several stages. First, I built out the main pages of the site which had just been redesigned, and we went through any rounds necessary to get these pages ready. Once the main pages were ready, it was time to start building out the other 25-ish pages of content. During this process, I created custom JS API integration to automatically pull in their job postings from their Greenhouse job board and display on the site.Once these pages were all finished, it was time to tackle the CMS content! This was ported over using a variety of methods, from CSV sheets to plain old manual input. Each of the CMS categories needed to have a separate CMS collection built and styled for its content (i.e. blog, press articles, etc.). These CMS collections were built, content imported, and then subsequently styled to fit the mockups we had created. We had to pay special attention to URLs for their blog so that they did not lose any SEO value for these posts.

Overall, the project went very smoothly, and they have made some updates since I finished with the main build, but the site overall is functioning magnificently! The client was pleased with the work, and I could not have been more pleased with the client, They were organized, gave me quality photography and brand materials to work from, and gave great feedback which allowed me to create a solid final product. This has been one of my favorite works to date!
